Advent Wreath

We are gathering together in Te Whare this week to light the candles on our Advent Wreath.  We are preparing ourselves  in heart and mind to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

CHALK WALK

We have been learning to write using a perspective. We shared our ideas and thinking about the perspective of different characters in a Short Story. Sharing and discussing our thinking helps us to develop our understandings. Great cooperative learning Room 5.

Survivor Swimming.

Today was our final session for Survivor Swimming.
May thanks to the Instructors At Wai Splash for their planning and delivery of the series of 10 lessons.
Kids you have been so attentive and made shown real growth in your levels of skill. Well done.

Visitor from Australia

This week we had a visit from Chiara, Mrs Collier's niece from Geelong in Australia. 
Chiara attends a Catholic Primary School. She really enjoyed her experiences with Room 5.
Chiara really loved not having to wear shoes on the grass. In Australia they are never allowed to take their shoes off at School. Can you guess why this might be?

Term 4 Underway!

Wow this week has flown by. We are underway with our inquiry work. ROOM 5 are investigating a passion we each have.
Our wondering questions and research are all heading towards the genius in us all.

Busy few weeks

Wow what an awesome couple of weeks we've had. Trips to Waipukarau, investigating visual images, Aerobics festival including our Kapa Kaka Group,  investigating Probability, and Daffodil Day, just to name a few.

Next big move...into our new learning spaces in Block B! Yah! !!

Busy week

This week we have been doing lots of cooperative learning activities.

School Vege Patch

Today it was fine and warm, so these two boys were out weeding and tidying the vege patch. It won't be long and we'll be able to eat some of this silver beet.
